Fort Nisqually keeps a garden behind the house you can look through. I was told what this plant might be when I took this picture, I can’t actually remember what I was told it was, but it looked cool.

Lisbon is one of the largest towns in Northern Ireland. The original location of the city is where the Hill Street Estate is currently located. On the north side of town there was a fort in the spot that now holds Wallace Park. The original street plan, that is still used today, was originally designed in the 1620s.

Lisburn is considered to be an economic center for the Dublin and Belfast area. The conservation area constitutes Castle Street, Market Square and bridge Street. Much of the town was destroyed in 1707 so much of the older sections are in the popular styles found in the 18th century and has not been changed since.

This is the place where the linen industry in Ireland began. You can discover the history of the industry at the Irish Linen centre which is in the Market House. There is a farm museum at Brookhall historical farm. There are some rare breeds kept here as well as a lake that you can fish in, plenty of nature walks, gardens and a historic church. There is trout fishing available all year round and there are also facilities for conferences and Weddings.

An impressive piece of earthworks that has five entrances and is surrounded by boulders and gravel. This was most likely a cult centre or meeting place and horse racing occurred here in the 18th century. There is a megalithic chamber in the center of the ring. Wallace Park is the perfect spot to bring your family as it has plenty of walks and several different children’s play areas.

Moira Demesne is a parkland area that has some award winning rose gardens, several picnic areas and plenty of space for your children to play. Many of the plants and trees come from Jamaica as this garden contains one of the first hot houses.
